Coming to the summer season, this could be the best time for a visit to Kew Gardens especially as Kew Palace is open from Easter till September. The botanical garden was founded in 1759 by Princess Augusta, mother of George III. The Architect Sir William Chambers designed several buildings for the estate including: The Orangery, Pagoda and Ruined Arch. In 1987, The Princess of Wales Conservatory named for Princess Augusta, was officially opened by the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Kew is also a world-leading centre for plant and fungal research and conservation.
